The 4th edition of World Education Congress Sesc RJ will take place from the 25th to the 27th of October, from 09am to 08pm, at Sesc Flamengo, on 99 Marques de Abrantes Street, in face-to-face and virtual format. The event is free of charge and will be broadcasted live on Sesc RJ YouTube Channel.
This year, under the theme “The Awakening of Consciences” the event invites you to reflect upon the pillars that underlie Sesc RJ educational actions: the anti-ableism, the anti-racism and the scientific literacy, which deeply dialogue with the complexity of the contemporary world.
Under a varied schedule which encompasses pre-Congress activities considering an agenda of visits to the remaining Quilombola, indigenous and African heritage communities, up to a variety of activities such as speeches, mini-courses, roundtables, expositions and book launch which will be integral part of the programming from the 25th to the 27th of October. Worldwide acknowledged researchers like Gabriel Chalita, Marcelo Zig, David Rodrigues (Portugal), Emílio Figueira, Conceição Evaristo, Issaka Maïnassara, Barbara Carine, Anny Ocoró Loango (Argentina), Carlos Alvarez Nazareno (Argentina), Alicia Fernanda Sagüés Silva (Espanha) e Aliã Wamiri Guajajara, have already confirmed their participation.

Pre-Congress
Territorial Circuit
From the 17th to the 20th of October, Sesc RJ will provide a Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) interpreter for the Territorial Circuit. The circuit consists in visiting Pequena África, Morro da Providência, Museu de Favela, Aldeia Maracanã, Museu Sankofa- Rocinha e Memorial do Holocausto.
