Sesc RJ is promoting the II Sesc RJ World Congress on Education: “This school called life”, which will take place virtually from October 27th to 29th, 2021.

The objective of the Congress is to promote a broad debate on themes that contribute to an emancipatory education, to share experiences, to produce and disseminate knowledge. This proposal is powerful and relevant, taking into account that, in 2021, the centenary of the birth of Paulo Freire, Patron of Brazilian Education, is celebrated.

Paulo Freire’s studies were translated into more than 20 languages, and the educator was recognized as an honorary doctor in more than 22 countries. Sesc RJ corroborates the mobilization that has been taking place in Latin America and the Caribbean, affirming the importance of celebrating the centenary of this thinker who influenced education in different regions of the world.

It is considered that the greater the number of countries involved in the activities promoted at the event, the greater the results and positive impacts to be achieved will be. To do that, it is intended to bring together different sectors and actors of society: researchers, students, professors and professionals from related fields, a space for dialogue for the exchange of practices, proposals, ideas, and experiences.

Sesc RJ has entered into a partnership with the Fluminense Federal University (UFF), which will issue a certificate to the event’s participants, and has the institutional support of several universities and educational institutions in Brazil and abroad.
